With this fest we hope to spread more love for this glorious pair. The Kaibaek drought has gone on for too long~

So let us all get together, writers and readers alike, to show just how much we love these ethereal boys!

🌠 rules

The day has come! Ethereal Boys is open and the Kaibaek drought is coming to an end. But first, we have a few rules:

🌌 The fic must center on Baekhyun/Jongin as this is a fest for this pairing. The endgame must be Kaibaek. Side pairings are accepted, but remember to focus your fic on Kaibaek.
🌌 Minimum word count is 1500. There is no maximum word count, so feel free to make your fic as long as you want! Anything less than 1500 may be accepted in special circumstances, so feel free to contact us if this is the case.
🌌 Please remember that this fest is anonymous until reveals. So as excited as you may be, please keep all details a secret~
🌌 Finish your fic before the deadline and want to write another? Feel free to send in another claim. You can write as many prompts as you’d like so long as you finish the prior one. The more Kaibaek, the merrier~
🌌 We understand that life has a pesky habit of getting in the way, so if you are ever in need of an extension or even to drop out, please contact us, we are more than happy to be as accommodating as you need. Writing is fun, but your health is always more important!

🌌 Absolutely under no circumstances is plagiarism allowed. So say it with us, no plagiarism! We want your stories to be as original as can be and copying from someone else, within the fandom or not, is a huge no no. We will accept prompts inspired by other non-fandom works or in the same AU but they cannot be carbon copies.
🌌 This fest has some hard stops that are not allowed in any fic whatsoever, so pay close attention! there is to be no noncon, pedophilia, incest, bestiality, underaged sex, or misgendering of any member. We shouldn’t have to explain why these are banned, but if you have questions, feel free to ask!
🌌 Aside from hardstops, triggers need to be properly tagged and they include but are not limited to: dubcon, heavy use of drugs, graphic depictions of violence, abuse, mental illness, self-harm, infidelity, character death, etc. These are not banned, but we ask that you handle these topics with the utmost care.
🌌 Now that all the seriousness is over, the last rule is to enjoy yourselves! This fest was created to spread the Kaibaek love and to send help end the drought of this wonderful ship!

🌌 Anyone can submit any type of prompt, writer, reader, casual fan, your mom, your dog, absolutely anyone can submit. You may submit as many as you’d like. This is a fic fest, not an exchange, so you do not have to write for the fest if you prompt and vice versa.
🌌 You may submit any type of prompt you like. Fluff, angst, smut, mystery, adventure, sci-fi, ect. The world is your oyster, so go crazy! As long as your prompt focuses on Kaibaek and follows the rules, it is welcomed in the fest!
🌌 Prompting is anonymous, so unless you let the writer know who you are during postings, your prompts will remain anonymous.

🌌 Prompts are to be submitted in the forms below, this is for organizational purposes.
🌌 Please submit your prompts one by one. Yes, we realize this means having to go through the form multiple times, but if not the prompts will get mucked up and things can get confusing.

🌠 prompt examples

Below you will find examples of good and bad prompts. A good prompt doesn’t have to be long, but try not to make it too short~

🌌 Good prompt: Baekhyun likes to game in his free time and he is really good at it, so when the latest gaming equipment comes out that allows him to be transported into the game, he doesn’t expect to meet an NPC that steals his heart.
Ratings: Any
Wants: Fluff and a little bit of angst
Don’t Wants: Character death

This prompt is simple and to the point. It allows the author a lot of freedom to run with for however they interpret the prompt.

🌌 Bad prompt: Jongin and Baekhyun boink.
Wants: Lots of cute fluffy smut
Don’t Wants: Sad ending or Kaibaek breaking up

This prompt is entirely too vague. While brevity may be the soul of wit, for a prompt, writers need a little more to go on.

🌌 Bad prompt #2: Jongin and Baekhyun meet at a park when they are walking their dogs. Their dogs become fast friends even though Jongin and Baekhyun don’t like each other at first and try to avoid each other, but their dogs keep finding each other when they’re at the dog park. Eventually, after enough times of their dogs playing with each other, Jongin asks Baekhyun on a date and they start dating and fall in love.
Wants: Jongin and Baekhyun hating each other at first, but the moment they agree to go on a date has to be on a rainy day. Also, don’t make them fall in love too quickly but not slow burn either.
Don’t Wants: No sad ending, also nothing happens to the dogs.

This prompt is too specific and limits the writer entirely too much. The whole story has been told here and that’s not what a prompt is supposed to be. A prompt should be an idea that sparks interest for the writer to run with and make their own~

🌠 claiming

The time has come! Claiming has begun, so why don’t you guys hop on over to the archive (insert link) and take a gander at what we have to offer? Once you’ve done that, take a seat right here and we’ll go over a few rules-

🌌 First things first, only one fic at a time. While we do have the slots for three choices, that is more to make sure that you lovely writers have a few backup plans should your first choice be taken. However, if you finish the first choice prompt before submissions are due and want to write another, go for it! Not even the stars are the limit so write as much as you want for this lovely pair.
🌌 Once you’ve submitted your claim, we will send out confirmation emails telling you if you’ve gotten your prompt. After that, go ham! The prompt is now yours to do whatever you want with.
🌌 You do not have to have sent in a prompt to claim, nor do you have to claim a prompt if you submitted one. This is a fest, not an exchange~

Hi there lovely kaibaekists. Below you will find information about check-ins and the schedule!

In-depth:

🌌For the first check-in, you will receive an email detailing the information above as well as what to title your response email and all the information required. We have decided to make the attachment of a document optional for the first check-in in order to make it less stressful. Of course, if you want to attach a document you may~ The first check-in has a minimum requirement of 500 words.

🌌For the second and third check-in, you will also receive an email detailing all the necessary information and you must attach a document to the email. The second check-in has a minimum requirement of 1000 words and the third check-in has a minimum requirement of 1500 words.

🌌Finally, for submissions, your fic must be at a minimum of 1500 words unless you have a special case that has been agreed upon by the mods. You will receive an email detailing everything you will need to know and the steps for submitting your fic to the collection!
